Recycled PET Chips (rPET Chips) — Industrial & Textile Grades

Recycled PET chips (rPET chips) are pelletized feedstock produced from recycled plastic waste including PET flakes, polyester yarns, thermoformed scrap and bottle scrap. rPET chips deliver consistent melt properties and are used across textiles, extrusion, thermoforming and non-food packaging — and where processed and certified, in some food-contact applications.

Key Features

Consistent Pellets

Engineered for stable extrusion and molding.

Multiple Grades

Textile grade, bottle grade, sheet/thermoforming grade.

Sustainable Option

Lower carbon footprint versus virgin resin when sourced from recycled bottles.

Quality Control

Melt flow and intrinsic viscosity (IV) controlled per customer spec.

Typical Specifications

Grade: Textile / Bottle / Sheet

Color Options: Natural / White / Colored / Mix

Pellet Form: Cylindrical pellets, 2–4 mm

Testing: IV / Melt Flow / Moisture (lab test report available)

Common Applications

Polyester Yarns & Filament

For textile industry applications.

Carpets & Upholstery

Non-woven applications.

Sheet Extrusion

PET sheets and thermoformed products.

Injection Molding

General plastic parts and certified food containers.

Food-Contact & Certification Note

Recycled chips can be used in food packaging only if they are
produced in validated recycling processes and accompanied by regulatory approvals or declarations
(FDA/EFSA/FSSAI etc.). If you require food-grade rPET, ask for the recycling process documentation and
third-party test reports.

Packaging & Delivery

Packed in 25kg bags or big-bag options, bulk recommendations depend on quantity and destination. Always store in sealed, dry conditions to maintain quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How are rPET chips made?
A: Typically by melting and pelletizing washed PET flakes and/or reprocessing polyester scrap; this yields uniform pellets for downstream processing.

Q: Can rPET chips be used for food packaging?
A: Only when processed and certified to meet food-contact regulations (FDA/EFSA/FSSAI), with validated decontamination processes and proper documentation.

Q: Do rPET chips differ from virgin PET chips?
A: rPET chips are recycled resin and may have slightly different IV/melt properties, while virgin chips are produced from virgin monomer and offer highest clarity and consistent IV. Contact us to learn more about the differences.
